Janez Lapajne (1967, Celje, Slovenia) is one of the most successful graduates of the Ljubljana Film Academy (AGRFT) in recent years. His short films have won a number of awards at home and abroad, including the University Prešeren Award for The Smile (Smehljaj, 1996) and the Grand Prix - Golden Dinosaur Award in Krakow, Poland for Breakages (Črepinjice, 1997), his graduation film. Lapajne's working methods involve extensive collaboration with his actors. He focuses closely on human emotions, and on the rhythm and harmony of the film as a whole. Rustling Landscapes is his first feature film.
